Our Story

Travelling to and from Africa in hospitals there, our inventors were constantly patting themselves down.  Where were tickets?  Passport? Keys?  Wallet?  Back on the wards in the UK, the white coat disappeared.  Where the to carry personal and medical kit without spreading infection?  Cycling to work and office: surely there was a better solution to carrying essentials than a jacket or a rucksack?  Out jogging, too: where to carry a phone and house keys?  We tried camera jackets, bum-bags and more.  But nothing worked.  So we do what engineers and doctors do.  Solve the problem ourselves.  After a decade of development, world-famous designer Anya Hindmarch completed the Holdster Mark I.  Other versions are in development!

Hugh Montgomery

The Professor

Hugh is a consultant and professor in Intensive Care Medicine, with over 33 years of NHS experience.  He sits on the Council of the UK Intensive Care Society, and worked on the front line during the Covid pandemic.  He has published over 450 scientific papers and articles.

Clive Smith

The Entrepreneur

Clive is an entrepreneur and not a super-human like Hugh.  He is an engineer by background, having worked in the oil industry for over 30 years (much to Hugh's disgust).  He has successfully set up and exited a consultancy business and been involved in other, more adventurous, but less successful ventures (such as making flying dresses for Lady Gaga).  His only claim to fame is that he can beat Hugh down a ski slope!
